Greetings Friends,
Welcome back to the blogger-sphere! We have much to tell about the goings on at the gardens...First, we were featured in the Montrose newspaper in an article about local CSAs recently. We continue to provide produce to restaurants like Butcher and the Baker, The Peaks, Hongas, La Cocina, catering companies, a food truck and to our CSA. We thoroughly enjoyed attending the snowy Mountain Film Fest Market and Ice Cream Social last month. The Gardens have an enthusiastic group of budding interns looking to delve deep into soil with blood, sweat, and tears for your edible delights! We will be updating the New Agrarian section to introduce you to the new crew. We have a group of 5-12 year olds coming to visit the farm next week. A solid group of people have been volunteering on the farm, from ex-interns to CSA members! We will be re-locating the goats to the gardens to join our brood of chickens, to give it a more farmy feel! We look forward to seeing you at the Telluride Farmers' Market periodically this summer. We are really pushing for a big fall harvest, so be ready... And now to the meat of the blog, what do we have in the field on offer for you our loyal customers? Tomatoes, eggplants, okra, melons, potatoes, onions, leeks, garlic, carrots, turnips, beets, asian greens, mustards, peppers, cucumbers, chard, celeriac, celery, lettuce, peas, beans, radishes, spinach, herbs, flowers, plants for seed (carrots, celeriac, onions, mustards, spinach, kale, chard, yams, parsley, etc...), and I might have missed a few. As always, we strive to provide a bountiful variety of each veggie, for example, the other day we planted 300 plus hot, sweet, drying, and unique peppers. Please feel free to email with questions, comments or concerns. We would love to have you stop by for a gander, to see where the magic happens, or perhaps you'd like to volunteer.
