We always have so much fun when the school groups come out! Last Friday we had the Ridgway 4th and 5th graders. This was their second time on the farm. Last fall they came out to dig potatoes and pull weeds. Last Friday they came out again and helped us plant potatoes, shallots, onion sets and of course helped us pull more weeds. Man, did it show that they were experienced. Everyone walked in the paths and not in the beds. Planting went smoothly and everyone seemed as they had been pulling weeds for a long time. Favorite activities as always were feeding the chickens and finding left over veggies from the year before! Thank you Ridgway 4th and 5th. We are looking forward to your next visit.
The Winter CSA is in full swing! Pickup is at the farm; directions are below. Pickup starts each week at noon on Thursday and ends on Sunday. You can come get your share any time you like, but if you come after dark please be sure to close the gates behind you. The CSA runs through the week of March 17th. See you there!
Select Recyclables Wanted!
Be sure to bring us your used and relatively clean egg cartons, plastic grocery bags, and the veggie bags you get from us at the CSA pick up.
Recycling these items helps us keep the cost of the CSA low because we don't have to buy new ones. Thank you!
Directions to Buckhorn Gardens
In Colona (near the Sinclair gas station) turn east on Buckhorn road. Follow Buckhorn road to the stop sign at the T intersection. Turn right (still Buckhorn road) and drive 1.5 miles to the driveway on the right at 71610 Buckhorn road. There is also a small sign that says Buckhorn Ranch. Follow the private drive a half mile up and you will see the geodesic grow dome on the left.
